Kindly, can anyone explain the difference in nanoparticles size obtained from powder X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. If they are different, what does that refer to?
The size obtained from XRD by Scherrer equation indicate the mean crystallite size. However SEM results just show particle size.
If all your particles are single crystal, you can say that they are same.

SEM refer to grain size. Scherrer formula is used to estimate the particle size of very small crystals from the measured width of their diffraction curves.
