My question is seguinta what is the best way to do the fattening of small ruminants ? Which system suits to have a higher yield ? What are the races that privilege ?
In a question meto several questions because one without the other is not nothing .

If one assumes that the fattened animal will be marketed for money and the farmer or enterprise must operate competitively in the marketplace, then the cost of feed to fatten the animal and the efficiency of fattening with that or alternative feeds is really the important topic. Small ruminants will fatten more quickly with a ration/diet that has more energy and higher digestibility as long as there is sufficient NDF to support a healthy rumen. But the real question is what available and affordable feeds are most suitable for fattening the animal in your particular situation. This becomes a local or regional question that depends on the feeds and resources available. One can formulate an "ideal" ration, but it may not be suitable from an economic standpoint. If one can source highly digestable and suitable byproducts from food and energy bioprocessing, this may be highly satisfactory. Transportation cost for procuring feed needs to be managed efficiently..
In fattening animal, the cost and availability of feed ingredients must be considered in relation to the nutrient composition/level. One should also bear in mind that the energy (metabolizable energy) of the feed must be high so that the excess energy available to the animal is converted into fat stored under the skin.Taking Nigeria as a case study, the main source of energy concentrate is Maize which is readily available, cheap, easily transported compared to other sources like Barley, Cassava meal( having Cyanide which is a nutritive factor that prevents the digestion/absorption of available nutrient ), etc. while the major source of crude protein is Soya bean meal which is also available. Wheat offal is a by-product of Wheat which is also available and constitutes about 40% of the feed because of the high crude fiber content needed by ruminant animal. Having satisfied the M.E (Metabolisable Energy), CF(Crude Fiber), Ether Extract (Fat), the Vitamins and Mineral(especially Calcium and Phosphorus) must be satisfied. It is also advisable to castrate all the male ruminant animals that will not be use for breeding so as to quicken their growth. Castrating ruminant animal at early age gives better result than late castration,
The best system depends on some of the factors mentioned above. whereby your prevailing environment is able to satisfy most of these conditions, ruminant animals can be fattened with ease for the market. However, market condition also has a role to play because if you fatten animals and there is no demand for them in the market, you will end up incurring additional cost by maintaining /giving them maintenance ration.
Assuming that after fattening all animals have the market to be sold. What would be better and sheep breed that would use taking into account that on the one hand we want a race that fatten faster with a higher yield in housing ? On the contrary if we want a later race in terms of fattening but we know that will result in a product of excellence , which races you favored ?
We know that in sheep after weaning (after about 3 months in my country ) need to have a proper diet adequate growth for the purpose of the product , where the diet that will be provided knowing that privilege grazing .
