when i observed aminoacid sequences of different pseudomonas lipase all of them carry GXSXG. But i know that the catalytic triad is GLY-ASP-SER.WHICH ser will be active?
The x-ray crystal structure of the Pseudomonas lipase PAL is shown here:
http://www.jbc.org/content/275/40/31219.full.pdf
The catalytic triad of this enzyme consists of Ser-82, Asp-229, and His-251 (The catalytic triad does not consist of sequential residues).
The catalytic Ser-82 is found in the sequence G-H-S-H-G.
You may want to take a look to the Lipase Engineering Database
http://www.led.uni-stuttgart.de/
in all lipases catalytic serine found in the sequence GXSXG? Or it is specific for each one
