I want to increase the current response by increasing the surface area on a SPCE.
Therefore, I am trying to coat the working electrode (WE) with MWCNT.
The MWCNT is dispersed in dimethyl-formaamide (DMF) solvent via sonication and then drop casting on the WE. However, after drying at room temperature, the WE shows very high electrical resistance (Mega ohms, almost OPEN). without any coating, the resistance is about 100 ohms.
Can anyone advise me on this ?

You are trying to increase the current response of a high resistance coated WE by increasing the surface area of a counter electrode (CE)،i.e.SPCE,this can occur if you would scratched the WE leaving some areas of the WE exposed before testing.

With little experience in the development of electrochemical sensors, I suggest you to try modifying SPCE with functionalized MWCNTs or use conducting polymers (nanoscaled) like polypyrrole or polyaniline, so as to improve the current response of WE.
