I’m focusing on conflict adaptation question (i.e. the congruency effect was smaller following incongruent than congruent trials), I previously used the traditional method (ANOVA) to investigate this effect by showing the significant interaction effect between previous trial and current trial. Now, I would like to try to use modeling to gain deeper insight into the process of conflict adaptation from conflict monitoring in the previous trial to conflict adjustments in the current trial. More specifically, I'm interested how conflict adaptation is modulated by the other factor? I therefore wonder how do I select an appropriate model based on my research question? are there some rules I can follow? what about diffusion model?
