I know that "young cells" need to be used for MIC determination, I know that one of the reason for this is the presence of fat lipid bodies in some bacteria, are there other reasons reason for choosing "young cells" instead of older cultures?

Thanks for the answer! I meant cultures starting their exponential phase in fresh media, when there are more nutrients available and there are less stressors in the environment.
If a culture is not in growth phase - inhibtion (of growth) is irrelevant - one can't inhibit growth that can't occur.
Kill is relevant - and exp phase cells are easier to kill - more senstive to animicribal agents. They're actively metabolizing so metabolic and functional pathways are avaialble to impact. For example, penicillin screws up cell wall synthesis - a dormant cell is not making cell wall.
