Do you know how can we measure the current using a Potentiostat when we are powering a device with an external power source?
For more information, We want to activate the EC indicator using our fabricated SCs and we want to measure the current flow simultaneously and we have a potentiostat here and I think there should be a way for that using the potentiostat. Do you have any idea?

Why do you need to use an external power source?
we want to see the current simultaneously when activating indicators using supercapacitors.
supercapacitor is a promising element in energy storage systems and we have fabricated some supercapacitors (SCs) and driving Electrochromic indicators is an application for our SCs.
we want to see the current going through the indicator when driving by SCs. I want to know whether it is possible to see the current behavioral by potentiostat or not. but in this case we are not using the potentiostat as a power source, we are using SCs which is an external power supply.

You can try to insert a resistor of a suitable value in series with SC. Use the OCP measurement method of the potentiostat, with WE and REF connected to one end of the resistor and CE connected to the other end of the resistor.
i = measured voltage / resistance.
