Current knowledge indicates the ABC/2 formula (simplified version of 4/3 π x (A/2) x (B/2) x (C/2)) to measure the volume of an intracerebral collection (either hemorrhage or abscess or cyst). However, this formula is based on ellipsoid morphology. We also know irregular shapes constitute a pitfall for this formula, and instead alternative have been described. However, if we'd had a patient with an intracerebral collection which seems nearly perfectly spherical, should we still use the conventional formula (ABC/2) or the sphere's, which is (4/3 π) x r3 ?
