I am interested in geopolitical aspects of the First and Second World Wars, particularly in the Anglo-Saxon attempts to re-create these conflicts as Russo-German wars.
I can only provide you with a theoretical framework, the rest is to be explored and demonstrated within a project like this. The ruling Anglo-Saxon geopolitical doctrine, as designed by Sir Halford Mackinder in the 1904 essay "The Geographical Pivot of History", was based on the principle of induced conflicts between the main land-powers in Eurasia (Mackinder called Eurasia "the World's Island", surrounded by the oceans, which he perceived as the single "World's Sea"). In practice, it meant the strategy of creation of conflicts between Russia on one side and Germany on the other. These conflicts were meant to prevent development of communication and trade infrastructure on the Eurasian territory, so that the sea-trade and sea-communication, in which Great Britain had a near-monopolistic status, would remain the main pattern in global relations. In this way, in Mackinder's view, Great Britain would maintain its absolute global dominance. This doctrine was the guiding logic behind the British political, diplomatic and intelligence efforts to play Germany and Russia off against each other in the World War I and World War II. This doctrine also stood behind the British efforts to draw the United States into both global conflicts, and has eventually been adopted by the United States itself, and is still visible in foreign policy strategies of these countries. I sincerely hope that this explanation has been clear enough.
I would be grateful if you could send it to me. Being a native speaker of a Slavic language myself, I can understand Russian to a reasonable extent. Thank you in advance.
Yes I am interested in the project. But I want to know who funded the project. Along with this I can certainly contribute positively to give a theoretical framework to the project.
