Dear RG community members,
I would like to start small discassion on the topic: How the scientific skills can contribute in project writing and project preparation, including the project implementation and how the project preparation skills can be a good base for development of scientific skills. I will give you an example. You have two individuals and the first one was scientist, becaming in few years a project leader, and the second one was project leader which became the scientist after few years.
I am really happy to hear and read your comments and ideas.

I support having a scientist in the role you describe in the example but in some specific situations, different people might be suitable for different roles. The reason for a scientist in that situation is - and I may be biased in saying this - because they have a thinking approach which is often very logical but I think non-scientists can easily emulate this way of thinking.
By reading and studying the scientific efforts of others,hard working with challenge, you will be a scientist in four to five yes after BS. Regards.
I think one fild is project management, and other is scientific thinking. And they are different expertises.
Among scientist, there ares some of them that are more sutable or more trained to perform as project managers, and frequently they con understand both ways to think. I think that a person who is preparing him- or herself to be scientist, can have also preparation to project management, and can use the basis of scientific knowldge to use that in project mangement. But them who are project mangers always need another person to cover the core scientific or technical part.

I thought more about the topic you raised. One of the important things about successful projects is that the manager has to have very good ability to communicate with all members of the team and sometimes this may be difficult for some scientists (but some are actually very good at this as well!)
Scientific background helps to develop a quantitative or numeric based project
I think also that working in projecct-based instruction is a very good idea to educate in science in a very situated way. It is possible that, in terms of insrtruction, to have at least one space in the undergraduate or graduate programs with this orientation, can give the student a visualization in the use of scientific notions, and at the same time, they could develop some skills to deal with others and with project dynamics, as Joseph C Lee suggested.

U can make ur project easily.. Keeping ur knowledge in that matter is concerned...
