Matching by age or to include age in the model?

If we want to adjust by age in a case-control study, we could do a matching 1:N by age (conditional logistic regression) or just consider age as another covariate in the model, without a matching (non-conditional logistic regression).

What are the advantages of both procedures?

It is good to use a matched case control design if your disease is uncommon. Secondly, if age has been identified as a factor in many of your studies then you can match on it. So, that your study can present some new results and can add some new knowledge to the existing one.
