Hi all,
I am purifying a protein using anti-Flag magnetic beads. The protein purification is fine but I lose a lot of beads because they attach to the plastic (tips, tubes, falcon,..). Any suggestion on how to reduce the beads loss?
I was wondering if a glass tube could make any difference.

using magnetic agarose beads slightly reduces non-specifc binding, and also sticking to surfaces, due to their hydrophilicity.

Unfortunately we’ve already ordered beads. But next time we will try this way.
I would also use glass but if it needs to be durable then use stainless steel with a coating. The company General Magnaplate has a not stick coating that is used for many medical manufacturing and lab testing for this same reason to eliminate loosing or sticking to the surface.
