Upon Ligand binding (EGF, TGF-alpha) EGFR is internalized and finally sorted to degradation in lysosomes, or translocated to the nucleus, where it regulates the expression of several genes. Which factor determines or modulates the EGFR traficking to lysosomes or nucleus?

The EGFR internalization and sorting upon ligand-binding depend on several factor such as the ligand used as well as its concentration. Good luck.
Thanks for your answers...!! I've read your suggested papers and gave me some insights about the EGFR trafficking. My question is rather about which intracellular factor regulate the sorting of the endosome cargo to lysosomes or other organelles, since endosome is a crossroad in this trafficking. It's clear, from the paper of Roepstorff (2009), that the affinity of the ligand influence this phenomena. :)
hello Yasser, all trafficking route have at least 4 group of proteins important, such as: 1. RabGTPases 2. SNAREs receptors (receptors of fusion of membranes) 3. Proteins of cover COPI or II or clatrins among others, and 4. Modulate proteins. All these proteins are specific for each subcellular compartment :)
