Which amino acids are the most frequent in the N- and C-terminal positions? Is there some work about this issue?
I don't know of a specific study of that topic, but it is fairly easy to do yourself. Just download the uniprot database (just the fasta sequences) and extract the first and last characters of each sequence. Easy to script.
