You will have a hard time finding free software that will include a database. There are free databases that include minerals such as in the links below.

What you need however is search-match software that can access these databases, and these are generally not free. 

If your University has XRD instrumentation then the price of the correct software is small in comparison to the capital expenditure. And without the appropriate software then the instrumentation is useless. I would go and talk to the professors about getting the appropriate support for your project.

Good programs for X-ray data analysis are PCW or Winploter, which can be easily found on the web free of charged. Nevertheless, a good data base program, free of charged, will be very hard to find. Most good data base will cost you. As was suggested to you, try finding out which companies work with your institution. 

if you praper and scamn your sample carefully, any serach based XRD software can be used but the free softwares have not most of databses and you need to use a commercial software for this purpose like EVA introduced by Bruker Axes with XRD instruments. I believe that phase analysis of youe mentioned sample alone need too much exp[erience.
