I have some idea to use SPSS but not complete idea, and I have biggest problem with logistic regression, my question to you is "one of my independent variables is multiple response answer, however dependent variable is dichotomous? I want to know how can I perform logistic regression for such multiple response variables in SPSS.

What do you mean with "multiple response answer"? Do you mean multicategorical or continous? Logistic regression is very similar to OLS regression in structure.

I think, It is better if you will change your data gathering tool with multiple responses as yes and no for single study subject so that you can analysis it in regressing.

Rainer Duesing it is multiple response question for independent variable. I entered data as Getasew Amogne Aynalem recommended 'Yes/No' for each of the individual response.

The right way of performing this econometric exercise is to use dummies for analysing the impact of the independent variables. For each categorical variable, you should create a number of dummies equal to the number of categories minus one (a category must be a reference). The coefficient of each dummy is interpreted as the effect of this category on the dependent variable compared with the effect of the reference category.

Example:

Education (low, medium, high)

Create medium_educ and high_educ and take low_educ as the reference category.

Regress the variable of interest on medium_educ and high_educ. The coefficient of medium_educ will give you the effect of having a medium education compared to hold a low education. The same applies to high_educ.
