Language is unique to the human species and is particularly important for the development of thought and reflective awareness. According to specialists in the field, Linguistic and cultural Diversity are the reservoir of knowledge accumulated throughout history and are linked to Biological Diversity. Linguistic and cultural diversity potentiates the chances of success and the adaptability of man. Languages are very diverse in the world, currently more than 7000 languages exist in the world. However, languages, and in particular some, are in danger of disappearing. According to UNESCO, 50% of languages are in danger of disappearing. A language disappears on average every two weeks and if nothing is done, 90% of languages will probably disappear during this century, according to the same source.

How do you perceive this danger, do you see it as of the same importance as the loss of Biological Diversity or of lesser importance? How do you think about possibilities to save the Diversity of languages? Do you think it is more difficult to save the diversity of languages than to save Biological Diversity? Your opinions are welcome.
