I am doing research in land suitability evaluation for Ginger production and I need to assign the weights for the analysis factors. I need experts decision about the importance of the factors affecting ginger growth. Can you help order the factors from the most important to the least important?
For example, if you think that pH is more important than OM for Ginger and more affecting the wheat growth you write in your answer like this pH > OM. Or Using satty scale (0-9) to give relative importance of each factors.
The factors or the parameters are 9:
pH, Slope, Soil depth, texture , Organic matter, N, P, K.
Please order using “>” simple. or satty scale of preference
I think in these order of importance pH> organic matter > texture > NPK > depth > slope

Ordering factors for their importance depends on the specific soil in question.
Let me explain if the pH is either too low or too high it may be a primary consideration and if they are not they do not a primary immediate consideration.
If our soil is very deficient in soil organic matter than it would a factor of primary importance while if the soil had a 5% or more soil organic would not be an immediate consideration.
Likewise the relative importance of NPK secondary and micronutrients is a function of soil conditions.
In texture the pure sand or a high clay will lead texture to be important.
As for the need for the system it is hard to envision optimized ginger except in a raised bed system with a soil conservation plant and production on contours.
Our ability to prioritize the dynamics is a function of detailed soil analysis, developing a plan based on limiting factors specific to the field environment and to use plant leaf analysis to monitor and adapt our production plan.
The ginger capacity for production is enormous we found a capacity to produce 14 kg of ginger for a single 28 g seed piece when the crop is greenhouse grown with no limiting nutrients disease or pests.
While ginger experienced up to 90% loss from bacterial wilt in a clean and control optimized environment the industry in Hawaii has become feasible with the clean greenhouse system and this has become the default system for greenhouse production in North America.
