Hello dear scientist,

I am looking for an easy (kit?) way to extract total protein from soybean seeds.

There are procedures and reviews (Preece et al., 2017) available, but mostly for large scale, like tofu production etc.

I was wondering if anyone has good experience with e.g. the P-PER Plant Protein Extraction Kit:

• Versatile—works with multiple plant organs (leaf, stem, root, seed and flowers); multiple plant species (Arabidopsis, tobacco, maize, soybeans, peas, spinach and other plant tissues); and fresh, frozen and dehydrated plant tissues

Since no mechanical disruption is part of the protocol I don't think it would be too suitable for seeds...? Can anyone recommend a protocol which worked in your lab?

Thank you in advance,

Elisa
