We are trying to grow LABs but we have some problems to create the anaerobic conditions. In our study we only attempt to compare the microbial composition of a food product through time, and we will use some culture media according to our knowledge about the product's microbial profile. Within the medium MRS, PCA, Schaedler..
I wanted to know if you consider that using aerobic conditions (in this case for MRS and Schaedler mediums) will make it more difficult to publish our investigation because of the methodological limitation.

Hello Miriam, no problem at all to grow the LAB in aerobic conditions, most of researchers do it aerobically for MRS medium.
It is possible if you are sure that there is nothing contaminated you culture or you did something to protect contamination. But these ways must to be scientifically acceptable.
Dear Miriam, you can freely move ahead with standard incubation under aerobic conditions for your LAB strains. It is acceptable.
Dear Miriam, you can definitely use aerobic conditions for cultivation of LAB, just ensure that you are not working on any metabolite whose bio-production requires anaerobic growth conditions.....
