Hi, is there any pre-enrichment solution/method specify for marine bacteria? BPW is specific for enteric bacteria like Salmonella spp. I’m trying to isolate unknown bacteria from marine sediment and would like to do a pre-enrichment method to resuscitate bacteria after sampling. Btw I‘m an undergrad student and I only experienced to isolate and identify enteric bacteria from oyster sample. thank you for helping me in my study.
Generally, you can do enrichment for marine bacteria in Marine Broth. However, if you are targeting a specific group, then you must check their nutritional requirements to determine which medium will work best.

Its a long time since i worked on the this but for general investigation Marine Agar worked well for me. As the other answer states if you are looking forspecific environmental characteristics you could use a more specific medium.
