In many societies around the globe, names almost always have meanings. In some societies people believe that a person’s name has significant impact on their manner, attitudes and demeanor, by virtue of meanings of their names. In Pakistan, sometimes people change kids name when the kids have aggressiveness in their nature.
Dear colleagues may be there is misunderstood in my question, what I mean here is that we all know that your chances of success and failure depend primarily on who is around you. How does your name affect their attitudes and behavior towards you because of your name, negatively or positively?
Interestingly, From school to college, college to university there were no or few (one or two) girls whose name were Maham and my classmate's and cousin's love to pronounce my name loud haha. Paul: In the United States, a person's name can affect their chance for success. For example, one study used resumes with different names. The resumes with "white people names" were more well received than resumes with "black people names". Some people are still racist and it affects their perceptions and decisions.
