Its a general trend in India that we are not able to use randomization in experiments on drip irrigation due to the fact that a same lateral can not be used for different treatments. Rather we have to arrange same treatments in a row.
But its violating the basic principle of experimental design.
Even if it can't be randomized, then should there be any statistical corrections to be applied?
Randomization and replication are the two most important (equally important) basic principles of experimental design.
Randomization gives the validity of the estimate but not the estimate. Replication gives estimate but not the validity of estimate. Thus, Randomization and replication together give valid estimate.
Now, if randomization is neglected then the validity will be lost. There is no remedial measure of regaining the validity that is already lost.

But, can you suggest proper experimental plan with drip irrigation? because I have never seen a drip irrigation experiment with random treatments in India. If there is any way, please suggest.
