Hello everyone! I am preparing electrospun fiber of PLA in Chloroform/DMF solvent (9:1 ratio)...I am following standard reported protocol but i am not getting fiber deposition on collector much. Fibers are being deposited here and there and polymer solution is dripping from the needle tip making tube like long solid droplet. I have tried changing all the parameters like voltage distance , polymer concentration but still the problem is there. please suggest me some solution.
The DMF concentration you have chosen appears to be too low. Consider using a ratio of 5:1 or 4:1, and adjust it according to the concentration of the PLA you are working with. For example, a ratio of 4:1 (Chloroform:DMF) is ideal for a 12% w/v PLA solution with a molecular weight of 80-90 kDa.
Try to change the solvent.
I work on DMF:AC ( 40:60 ) with PLA and it was very good for optaining nanofibers
