The tactics and strategies of the present war appear to be an assemblage of previous ones, some ancient. Apart from the use of reality altering propaganda on one side there is a variation from mercenary armies from state wide mobilisation of the very poor for higher wages than they would otherwise obtain, limited use of professional soldiers and greater use made of professional mercenaries, and on the other side a citizen army that can be traced back to ancient Greece.

The use of drones has proved important but that was known from the previous Armenian and Azerbaijan conflict. The use of tanks to create breaches in extended lines can be seen in WW1, and of course was employed by ancient cavalry.

Fighting techniques I suggest correspond to the particular nature of the armies. Mass attacks used by one, smaller attacking forces by the other.
