We have just finished data collecting for a study linked to this topic (body temperature in canicross dogs), fingers crossed will be able to share the findings soon!  Interestingly there are very few published case studies, or even news stories about exertional heatstroke in the UK, I've only heard of cases by word of mouth...

I think I am going to research this as, like you I cannot find any studies published.. Canine racing sports are becoming increasingly popular now, So inexperienced people who do not recognise the early signs  or the predisposing factors of heatstroke are putting their dogs at risk. I would be most grateful to read your findings, and I have requested your previous  paper.
