I wonder if there is an option, rather than Tie, in Abaqus CAE to constraint the temperature of a node (i.e. its 11th DOF) to be equal to the one of another during the whole simulation time.
In other words, I am looking for modelling perfect thermal contact (i.e. no thermal resistance) between opposite surfaces of separate entities in Abaqus without using the famous Tie option.
It will be also of interest if someone explains how to equalize two remote nodes in terms of temperature (or any other property) via Abaqus GUI.

Thanks for the reply. However, according to the Abaqus definition of the tool, I understood that the option does not allow the assignment of more than one node/point for the Sets other than the primary one in each Equation.
As Equation works based on Set definition with the mentioned peculiarity, if one needs to equalize the temperature of two surfaces using this option he/she needs to make so many equations for each and every node on one of the surfaces.
Thus, this question of mine remains not properly answered unless someone tells me that Equation Sets can accept Sets involving Geometry as well as Nodes.
if you read abaqus analysis or keyword manual, you'd realize abaqus does allow use of multiple nodes in equation. it is just not supported in cae

Ardalan Amiri it's not related to academic or industrial environment. it's related to modeling decisions which are not made on the fly but at the beginning of taking the problem in hand. :)
