We want to label the blood vessels in rats to check under the in vivo microscope, and follow one week after labeling. We have used FITC-dextran 2000S but there was leakage into the parenchyma, which makes the blood vessels difficult to distinguish after 1st injection. Does anyone have advice on the possible options? Thanks a lot!
Hi Lili, you want to incorporate a label onto long lasting plasma proteins like albumin.
I only know of Evans Blue, but there are a lot of other dyes out there that can bind albumin.
would it work to repeat the injection after the weeks "incubation" , I guess after whatever treatment you do? then you could use fluorescein. there is also the possibility of Alexa633hydrazide, but this is not green...
Dear Lili, We haven't do any experimental on blood vessels, so I don't know how to solve this problem either.
Hi, I am very much sure that FITC (Fluorescene Iscocynate) would be usefull as green fluorescent dye for your labeling purpose.
