In Drosophila larvae, multidendritic neurons tile the space between body wall muscles and the epidermis. I have proposed a model in which dendrites interact with body wall muscle, my PI thinks they only interact with the epidermis. I have found publications that allude to the idea that dendrites may interact with muscles in helping to form a feedback circuit with the central nervous system, but have not found any direct evidence. Does such evidence exist, and if so, can you point me toward the relevant publication(s)?
