One of my friend had a discussion that environmental Sciences is the mother of Ecology. Some of my other friends tried to convince that Ecology is the original branch of knowledge where man could develop its linkage to the Nature and latter anthropocentric utilization of resources has magnified his desire for self development at the cost of the Earth Planet. What do we need now to care for the unit and also the Unity?
In the definition - ecology is a study of interactions among organisms and their environment. Environmental science is more wide subject (from my view). And it is concentrated to study of problems between environment and human activities. This science uses ecology and other disciplines. And also has more branches concentrated on management, conservation of nature, landscape planning...But from my view - does not matter if ecology is a part of environmetal science. Each of these disciplines has a place in the research work and solving of problems.
Environmental science is about man damaging ecology. Ecology is about nature, and how it has to deal with human damaging it.
