I am doing a measurement of acoustic velocity and I would like to estimate wood stiffness. is there any calibration of MFA to Acoustic velocity or the other way around?
As far as I know, there are some studies done trying to estimate mfa from acoustic velocity. Not sure about the details. But there should be some references in Monika's Phd thesis.
The works cited are good choices to find some information about MFA and acoustics measurements. But, one of the most important paper about this field you will find here:
Different species has different properties for wood, there is no equation to calibrate the MFA using acoustic velocity for different species. stiffness are related to MFA and density. There is a equation to estimate stiffness using MFA and density. But velocity has high correlation with MFA using SilviScan MFA as benchmark.
