For now, the method we use to measure resistance from temperature dependence in vanadium dioxide (VO2) is really slow: you need to look at oscilloscope and thermometer and write down the numbers while the sample is heating on Peltier element.
My question, is there any way to automate this method or maybe exist some automatic device which we can use?
Dear Kirill,
we carry out in our labs authomatic measurements of the resistance of materials as a function of temperature. The focus of our measurements are van der Pauw and Hall measurements. Therefore we have to control currents and voltages. For this purpose we use devices (we use Keithley instruments) with IEEE 486 interface. This allows to address the measurement units(e.g. start the measurement and read out the results). The measurement of temperature and control of the heater occurs as well.
The whole control is carried out from a computer using a suitable software (we use Labview). We are able to control a measurement over night without presence of a person. The data are saved to a disk.
Such an automated system is more or less expensive but very flexible to handle.

Using DDL you can integrate it, along with other computer controlled devices into LabVIEW or Python based software
Following Ruediger's suggestion, Van der Pauw and Hall measurements are the best technique to do low resistance measurements or charge carriers density measurements on semiconductor materials. The below is one of companies who can provide an automatic system.
