For example, if I were to use cell line X, is there a database I can see what cellular receptors reside on the surfaces of these cells?
This is a great starting point, many thanks.
You can also use Protein Atlas
http://www.proteinatlas.org/
You don't search for X cell line and see what proteins are expressed though. You search for the protein of interest and see which cell lines (also tissues) express it. Database gives info for both mRNA and protein levels.
