I have seen several cases of low growth on children (girls) with no hormonal problem, but high blood cholesterol. Thinking about the similarity of the chemical structure between cholesterol and vitamin D, could there be some kind of causality?
Malnutrition is probably the most common cause of growth retardation, and weight loss is often obvious. The cause of the delay may be a health condition, such as growth hormone deficiency or hypothyroidism, or genetic causes and others ..

I´m studyng hypercholestertolemia in children from 22 years ago.
Never was reading that could any relation between hypercholesterolemia and low growht.
I maked a test with one of my epidemiological studies in 382 children from 6 to 12 years old. I maked a contigence table beween children with cholestelolemia upper-equal to 200 mg/dl and Score Z Height minor to -1.00
I was find this interesting results:
OR: 2.17 CI95%= 1.09 - 4.35 p=0.028
I have data of another epidemiological study about 333 children. The next step is make the same calc on this data.
