There is a lot of research on CSR in the public sector. I've attached my work on the development of ISO 26000 by a range of governmental and non governmental actors.

Kernaghan Webb's research is on CSR (and CSR oriented codes) implementation across a range of public and private sectors, including numerous cases. I apologize, I don't know of any university cases.

Hi, I suggest you to look for the author Manuel Larran Jorge in Researchgate. He has published some papers about Social Responsibility in Higher Education.

I touched on that topic in my last book 'CSR and Sustainability - From the Margins to the Mainstream (Greenleaf, 2016 available on amazon.com).  But I dont know of a full-fledged application of system wide CSR as I described in https://www.csrfi.com/hopkinscsrmodel .  Do let me know if you find something.

I recommend you check the papers/work of François Vallaeys and ORSALC about SR in Universities. They are working on social responsibility of universities in Latinoamérica.

The Chicago Sustainabilty Plan does not take a multi-stakeholder view of CSR, rather a limited version of Sustainability focusing upon the environment.  It does add a job component but takes an 'issue' approach rather than starting from a systems approach to CSR.  Looks like a lot of work needs to be done in both public and NGO sectors!

Michael, I agree. But what I valued it's that they understood the concept 'sustainabilty' as something not only related to environment. Although indeed, most of the objectives are enviroment-related, they also stated objectives related to job creation, sustainable economy, transport or healthy food, which I think it's a good starting point.

Also, the plan was 2012-2015 and there are results, so that made my task easier. But anyway, I completely agree with you when you say that work needs to be done in public sector (I do not know about the case of NGOs). For what I read, in fact, public sector uses more output intangibles than private sector, so they should be even more worried about it. But they do have a lot of problems to implement CSR related strategies.

Thanks Id, yes I did notice that in Chicago..and my comment is not to discourage such approaches but widen them to all stakeholders.  As you know the mayor of Chicago is former chief of staff of Obama and the latter has not yet (!) advocated CSR/Sustainability...for some reason the President doesnt answer my e-mails...help me keep up the pressure (I guess the White House just swats me away like any unwanted assumed pest!).  I'll keep up the pressure on non-private institutional applications of CSR and shall use your useful links.  Thanks again!
