I am familiar with the HOMA-IR and QUICKI indices for quantifying insulin resistance. However, those indices have a feasibility issue in my team’s current study: a lot of my study subjects may not be in a fasted state. A test such as an OGTT wouldn't work either, since that would require study subjects to fast prior to the test. Are there any ways of quantifying insulin resistance without study subjects fasting?

I have been trying to find papers that relate non-fasting plasma glucose levels to non-fasting plasma insulin levels, but I don't think that's the best way to approach this issue.

Thank you!
