Is there a way to clean up this RNA (tissue high in proteoglycans)?

Hello,

I've tried numerous ways to extract RNA and I've used methods in the paper below. The supplemental has great suggestions/troubleshooting recommendations.

I've tried re-extraction with ethanol, but I am unable to get clean samples. Does anyone have any suggestions?
