are you simply looking for a handy abbreviation for "Pacific Studies"? "PS" would be an obvious, logical choice. Depending on the precise focus of your research, "PIS" as in "Pacific Island(er)s Studies" may also be useful. However, please note that many Pasefika/Moana etc. people nowadays do not want to be labled as "Pacific Islanders" any longer, so you may need to find a way to work around this terminology. Hope this helps a bit.

I think your terminology will have to depend on context
Are looking for the region geographically (spatial) or jurisdictionally (territorial)?
And how far does your focus go, say to the north? Tuvalu? Kiribati? Marshalls?
and the west?
If region as a whole.. Southern Pacific / Central Pacific
PIC etc has administrative / jurisdictional / territorial connotations
Following from Dirk's comment, it also depends on intended audience. People and administrators from 'American' and 'French' Pacific countries and territories recognise different abbreviations to so-called 'independent' countries, say, FICs oops, Forum Island countries.
