I understand a surfactant will act as an anti-fogging agent when applied to a clear surface such as glass or plastic. I am wondering whether it could be applied with a squeegee across the surface and then allowed to dry.

Does anyone have a recommendation on a good choice/recipe for that surfactant or anti-fog coating?

Longevity of the coating is not so important as it's for disposable face shields in hospital environments (eg 12-24 hours use) in relation to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Also, could it be done in a continuous way for example a plastic (PET) film being made on a roll - could the length of extruded film pass under a squeegee, which applies the surfactant solution onto it before being dried and drawn onto a roll?

Keywords: surfactant, anti-fog, coatings, polymers, extruded films, PPE

Your guidance would be much appreciated - Thank you, Matthew
