I would like to measure the salicylic acid and jasmonic acid production of my subject plants as their response to insect pest. I would like to conserve the use of their leaves so as to minimize the response of the plants to leaf harvest for the analyses. So it would be very helpful if I could simultaneously measure these two compounds from a single set of samples.
If you happened to know a protocol, please share. It would also be helpful if you would be able to provide literature for it.

One of the methods that you can use is to run your samples on HPLC/TLC. Ideally, u have a standard for both jasmonic acid and salicyclic acid so that you can compare and also quantify the amount in your samples. TQ

As Jasmonic acid and salicylic acid have antagonistic relationship with each other its simultaneous determination is important.
Yes, with the help of HPTLC we can simultaneously analyze both. For that purpose firstly, you need to extract the plant sample in some organic solvent or you can extract the compound of interest if you know the exact extraction method for each. Further you need to find suitable solvent to run the TLC and then you can perform the simultaneous analysis with HPTLC.
