I am inquiring about the best laptop features to run CFD software efficiently so that I get the minimum time of run and the best visual results. Any valuable recommendations are welcomed!
The graphic card will only make a difference on the computation if your CFD solver is developed for GPU cards. Otherwise, the graphic card will be only used for visualizations during the geometry and mesh generation or result post-treatments.
I intend to work with SSIIM 2 and openFoam, do you have an idea about the solver if it is developed for GPU cards or not. I am new in this field and I do not have information.
I am not a OpenFOAM user and don't understang a thing about Sediment Simulation In Intakes with Multiblock. However, I believe there are some OpenFoam plugins that are developed for GPU computing. There are some links that could be usefull:
I intend to buy a new device to work with CFD software. I prefer selecting intel core i7 HQ or MQ 8th generation CPU if available. the Nvidia Geforce that is available is 1050 and may be more but the problem is that there is no Nvidia Quadro cards available. that is why I am inquiring.
