In clinical management of the disease, there is a question of when and to which extent Androgen Deprivation and/or Radiotherapy would make sense. However, I did not find a clear definition especially of high-risk localized prostate cancer.
High-risk, localized prostate cancer is defined this way (according to the EAU guidelines): cT3a or Gleason score 8-10 or prostate-specific antigen > 20 ng/mL.
cT3a is defined by a perforation of the prostate capsule and in this way "locally advanced".
I used the risk-dependant classification according to the EAU Guideline "Prostate cancer >> Radical prostatectomy ( http://www.uroweb.org/gls/pdf/09_Prostate_Cancer_LR.pdf )
@ Anuruddha: You're right, T3 is locally advanced. That's what i meant in my first posting "cT3a is defined by a perforation of the prostate capsule and in this way "locally advanced"."
