Hi, I am currently working on 3T3-L1 cell line to study subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT). As my project is based on a specific effects on SAT (no effects on visceral adipose tissue) I am not sure if 3T3-L1 would be a suitable cell line to study because it may represent both subcutaneous and visceral adipose tissue (VAT). Here are my questions.
1. Does 3T3-L1 represent both SAT and VAT? If it does, does 3T3-L1 more closely resemble SAT or VAT?
2. Would 3T3-L1 be suitable for my project, which look at specific effects on SAT?
2. If 3T3-L1 is not the cell line to study my project, then which is a good murine cell line to study SAT?

You can use SCaP-23 cell line. It is more suitable for studying subcutaneous adipose tissues than 3t3-L1
