Nitrification inhibitors have been researched extensively for more than 5-6 decades. If used properly, NO3 leaching and greenhouse gas emission such as N2O from soils can be minimised in agricultural systems. However, there may be implications in residues of such inhibitors entering food chains or receiving environments such as water.  If used in your respective countries what is the extent of the use and how are their use being monitored or regulated?
