I need to buy beta-amyloid antibody 1-40 and its respective recombinant antigen. I will use them for detection tests using SPR. However, I would like to know whether the fact of using a mouse (host) antibody and a recombinant with a human reactive agent has some implication of selectivity.
In addition, I would like to know if an antibody/antigen wherein the host agent and the reactive agent are the same (human) has a higher selectivity when compared to different host agent and reagent (mouse/human or rabbit/human).

Use antibody prepared against the rdcombinant antigen.usually using polyclonal as capture and monoclonal as detector give the best results.

can you please specify what exactly you mean by selectivity? In general, you need to search for the antibody that does the job, e.g. discriminate between aggregated and non-aggregated beta amyloid. This is only dependent on the paratope. There is no way of knowing upfront whether an antibody generated e.g. in the mouse will be better or worse than an antibody generated in a rabbit. I would not test polyclonal antibodies as the differ too much from batch to batch. You have to use monoclonal antibodies to get consistent results.
To summarize:
* accurately write down what the assay / antibody should do
* screen several monoclonal antibodies for performance
* dont use polyclonal antibodies
* check the literature, there are several reports for your case
