Is the LDH Cytotox-one homogeneous membrane integrity assay sensitive to colored compounds by interfering with the fluorescence read-out?

Dear all,

I have recently bought the LDH Cytotox-one homogeneous membrane integrity assay but it seems that my compound, which is coloured, seems to produce lower fluorescence signal in comparison to the background blank. The background blank is serum free (i.e. no FBS or FCS). My question is, will I still be able to use this assay to determine if my compounds is cytotoxic to the cell line of interest?
