does 's' depend upon lambda (of light)???
Did you mean photon scattering by thin films? Since there are many scattering mechanism by thin films. The type of material do has an effect to the incoming light and also depend on the wavelength of the light as well.
Rayleigh scattering, which is wavelength dependent, can occur in thin films.
The scattering intensity of the photons is dependent of the wavelength. Shorter wavelengths will result in more intense scattering.
