Design Expert allows you to make an "Optimal" response surface. With these designs, you can choose the number of levels for each factor, use categorical and continuous factors at the same time too. These designs might look like a CCD, but they are not.
CCD in RSM normaly has 5 levels but it can be changed to be in 3 levels in a special mode which is called "face centered". You can get it by changing Alpha to value 1 .
@ Foram, if you have 3 factors, I suggest you go for BB design with FC, and if you have up to 5 factors you can use CCD with FC. By the way, which DOE software are using?
