I would like to know whether the selection of RVE for numerical analysis from the periodic fiber distribution of micro structure is size dependent or not. Lets, say If I selected RVE sizes are 10mm X 10mm and 20mm X 20mm, will they influence(induce changes in the overall response if we assume same mechanical properties in both cases) in changing the overall response of composite(effective properties) with periodic boundary condition. Kindly let me know clarification for this doubt.

If the periodic boundary conditions are set up in a right way and the RVE is indeed chosen representative for the structure, then there should be close to no difference between the response of a 10x10 and a 20x20 RVE. (aside from effects from discretisation)

What would be the minimum size of RVE ?
I have considered RVE size for my study is 1000µm X 1000µm.
Is it possible have this size as RVE for analysis
It totally depends on your structure / material.
If you cannot fit a representative part of the structure in the RVE, it is chosen too small.
If the fiber distribution is exactly the same all over your material, a cell with one fiber should be sufficient.
If you need to take statistical variations of the fiber distribution into account, you will have to take more fibers into account. Then, there is no definite answer to how big your RVE needs to be.
