writes about geometrical optics(page 1055):

"The "rays" (stream lines of the flow of energy) would no longer be rectilinear

and would influence one another in a most curious way, in full contradiction with the most fundamental laws of geometrical optics."

Is the modern Billiard-Physics- (Particle~Rays) - analogue to the geometric optics and is this the reason why it cannot explain many phenomena?
